We stayed at Tan Dderwen, a lovely two-bedroom cottage at Maes Madog Cottages. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and we were pleasantly surprised with some goodies upon arrival. Jane, our host, was very attentive to our needs. The location was perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility, with stunning surrounding scenery. Despite the cottage being a little cold, the heating provided helped us warm up after a wet week in North Wales. We would definitely return to this cozy cottage again.
Totally recommend this hotel.

Newly finished, spotlessly clean cottages in a peaceful location. Appreciated the welcome bottle of bubbly and chocolates. Easy access to hiking spots and attractions like Anglesey and Conwy & Llandudno. The cottage had a cozy wood burner and well-equipped kitchen. Comfy beds and large showers made for a comfortable stay.

The location of the cottages is ideal, with easy access to plenty of walks and hiking trails right at your doorstep. the surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful, providing a relaxing atmosphere for a getaway. the cottages themselves are full of character and well-equipped, with amenities such as a wood burner and a spacious shower. the host is friendly and attentive, ensuring a warm welcome and a comfortable stay.
Although the road and track leading to the cottages may be a bit challenging to navigate, especially in the dark, taking it slow and being cautious should alleviate any concerns.

The location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. the cottage itself was charming and clean, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the little touches, like the welcome gifts upon arrival.
There were a couple of negative aspects that affected my overall experience. the bed was slightly slanted, which made it uncomfortable to sleep on.

The cottage at Maes Madog Cottages was a peaceful and comfortable retreat for our stay. It was perfect for two people and located in a quiet and picturesque area just outside of Betws-y-Coed. The host, Jane, was incredibly helpful and responsive, even though we didn't get to meet her in person. The cottage had everything we needed for a self-catering stay, including a small fridge and kitchen utensils. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine and chocolates as a welcome gift. The location was ideal, being secluded but still close enough to the village of Betws-y-Coed. We loved the free goodies, such as Prosecco and chocolates, that were waiting for us upon arrival. The bedroom was adorable, with a comfortable bed, and the shower had good water pressure. The cottage had TV and internet access, which worked well. We also enjoyed the company of the friendly farm cat, who liked to snuggle with us on the sofa. Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as a drafty downstairs area at night and some cobwebs in the older property, we had a fantastic stay. we would highly recommend Maes Madog Cottages for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.

The value for money was excellent and our room was clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature and peaceful. The staff were incredibly helpful and always available.
Only one small suggestion to improve the breakfast offerings would be to provide a wider variety of hot items for guests.

I had a wonderful stay at a fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. The host, Jane, was incredibly welcoming and made our anniversary getaway extra special with gifts of prosecco, cakes, flowers. The cottage itself was clean, cosy, and well-kept, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. The surroundings were truly breathtaking, perfect for a quiet nature retreat. There was even free wifi and a designated parking spot for convenience. Exploring the nearby village of Betws Y Coed and visiting Portmeirion were highlights of our trip. it was exactly what we wanted for our anniversary weekend and we would definitely stay here again.
The road leading up to the cottage is narrow and uphill, which may require some reversing if another car comes along. Additionally, having your own transport is necessary as the location is a bit off the beaten track.
